Experience of Life, The
Published in Paperback by Living Stream Ministry (01 January, 1973)
Author: Witness Lee
Average review score:

The Experience of Life is an indispensable book!
This book leads the reader to experience Christ as life by taking you step by step through the crucial stages of activity as recorded in the Bible. In contrast to most contemporary Christian books, which only teach about God, The Experience of Life is like a restaurant: the menu describes the food, and the dishes themselves feed you. This way, the reader not only learns about God, but also touches this very Person!

Practical guide to experiencing Christ in your daily living.
This book is a very practical guide aimed at leading you into a life based on getting to know God through a direct and intimate relationship with Him. It explains some of the basic concepts and terminology of the Christian experience which are all too often glossed over or skipped altogether. The author speaks from his own personal experience in presenting a very thorough and detailed approach to living the deeper Christian life, experiencing the full blessings of allowing Christ to be your source in everything you do, and fulfilling the purpose for which we were created by God. Very highly recommended!

Exploring the Gaps: Vital Links Between Trade, Environment and Culture
Published in Paperback by Kumarian Press (August, 2000)
Author: James R. Lee
Average review score:

Recommended and informative for students of global trade
In Exploring The Gaps: Vital Links Between Trade, Environment And Culture, James Lee (director of the Trade Environment Database Project) focuses on the interrelationship and mutual influences and impacts between economic, ecological, and social factors. The rapid pace of globalization is seemingly outstripping human abilities to absorb the changes imposed by telecommunication, commerce, and resource exploitation. Very highly recommended and informative reading for students of environment issues, international trade, and cross-cultural studies, Exploring The Gaps features contemporary cases (including examples of endangered species) to underscore the dilemmas within environments and cultures. The reader will also be offered a strategy and approach for meeting the challenges that continued globalization presents.

A must read in this age of globalization and e-commerce
Exploring the Gaps, really does in itself fill the gaps between the current electronic age, and this global society that we live in, while giving us the historical context for the interconnectivity of these separate elements. This dynamic analysis brings in various points that should be considered in this age.

While many might suspect it to be purely academic, everyone from the dot-com manager to the international businessman will benefit from this book. International Trade, and Electronic Trade are not mutually exclusive terms anymore. This book makes that clearer than ever.

The historical perspectives offered here confirm that this process started ages before the "dot-com age". This historical context is invaluable. This is as much a history book as it is a book about the present and the future. There aren't many works that marry economics, anthropology, sociology, history and geography in such a fascinating manner, with implications for today's e-world.

One recommendation would be to have a few more graphics, but when read in conjunction with the websites listed, this book really does come alive in a sense.

The globalization debate and discourse ir richer for this book.

Faceless Enemy
Published in Paperback by Leeworks Pubns (25 January, 2001)
Author: Miriam Lee
Average review score:

Treat Yourself to a Great Read
With Faceless Enemy, author Miriam Lee has outdone herself. This is a very enjoyable and satisfying book -- intelligently written, filled with believable characters (some you love to hate), and plot twists that keep you hooked to the last word. I can't wait for Lee's next page-turning adventure!

Awesome!
Stayed up way past my bedtime to finish "Faceless". The characters are so interesting and seemed so real. I personally wanted to reach into the pages, seize one nasty individual by the collar and shake!

False Glory: Steelers and Steroids: The Steve Courson Story
Published in Hardcover by Longmeadow Press (December, 1991)
Authors: Steve Courson and Lee R. Schreiber
Average review score:

Role Model!
Told in the same vain as "North Dallas Forty", Courson is a wake up call to all fan(atics) who glorify sports and its participants. Although I can appreciate the artistry of Michael Jordan and the mastery of Muhammad Ali, their contributions to Society pails in comparison to the Jonas Salk's and Fred Epstein's of the world. Courson accurately points out the value of sports, in terms of self-esteem, team work, etc. But perhaps more importantly, he brings to light the great inadequacies, false adulations, and how competition at its highest can also bring about the worst in people. One of the best books a young, male adolescent can read and learn what a true role model is....Steve Courson.

Must reading for high school atheletes/coaches
A candid, no-nonsense account of the life of a professional athlete. A must read for anyone with an interest in anabolic steriods, life in the NFL, and the mindset of athletes and coaches from the pee-wee level all the way up to the echelons of professional sports. Steve conveys his intentions/feeling in a non-sanctimonious,non-selfserving style and manner. Speaks of the character building and comraderie of sports and on the flip side- the "win -at-all costs" of sports. I believe he has something for everyone in this book. The most re-read book I have..READ IT!

Family Haggadah: A Seder for All Generations
Published in Paperback by Behrman House ()
Authors: Elie M. Gindi, Lee T. Bycel, and Pamela B. Schaff
Average review score:

Great for families with preschool and school-age children
This was our third year using this Haggadah with our children, now 7 and 9 years old, and we will probably use it for at least a few more years. The "Family Haggadah" includes a complete service (i.e., no steps are skipped) with brief, clear English narration and key blessings and verses in Hebrew or Aramaic. The service is traditional with some contemporary additions - the Matzah of Hope; a poem written by a boy imprisoned in a concentration camp; Miriam's Cup; and one of our favorites, the Frog Song. The authors estimate that the service will take 45 minutes before dinner and 15 minutes after; we found it took closer to 55 minutes before dinner. The book is beautifully illustrated and includes discussion topics in boxes alongside the main text ranging from "what is your favorite part of the service" to a more sophisticated consideration of what it means to be enslaved versus free. Because the text is streamlined and simplified, rather than dumbed-down, this is also an ideal Haggadah for first-time seder hosts and seder novices of any age. To keep the service brief, very few traditional Hebrew songs are included. If you like to sing, you will need to supplement the "Family Haggadah" with a more traditional book, such as the Maxwell House version available in supermarkets.

From the bookjacket
This wonderful, easy-to-follow Family Haggadah was designed as a guide for the seder experience where young people are present. Elie M. Gindi originally compiled the Haggadah as a tool to teach his children the mysteries and secrets of the holiday, whild maintaining their interest and stimulating their curiosity. Seder participants are provided with easy-to-read instructions for a smooth and traditional ceremony. Special features include text boxes scattered throughout that provide questions and engaging commentary, encouraging thoughtful discussion. Images of ancient and modern illuminated Haggadot and artifacts adorn the text of this unique Haggadah, allowing the reader a chance to view a rarely seen part of Passover history. Seder participants will experience Passover not simply through words, but through a feast of rich and vibrant images.

Author: Lee Klancher

Farmall Tractors (Enthusiast Colos Seris)
I have read 5 or 6 books about Farmall Tractors over the past few months. This book was by far the best of those I have read. It gives a great overview of the history of International Harvester without getting boring. The photography is excellent and does a great job of showing these beautiful old machines.

Farmall Tractors.
I love this book for the pictures.

Femininity and Domination: Studies in the Phenomenology of Oppression (Thinking Gender Series)
Published in Paperback by Routledge (January, 1991)
Author: Sandra Lee Bartky
Average review score:

a way of looking at how we're socialized for trouble
There's nothing worse than forced femininity and how it limits a woman's life. This book gets you beyond all the gender bias non-sense and leads you to understand how we got in this mess in the first place and how to change, because humans ARE capable of change and do not have to stay in boundaries which bind their talents, aspirations and individual make up.

Within all humans, there are different degrees of femininity and masculinity and the masculine based way that men are raised, has allowed them not only greater freedom in the world but also greater freedom within,to think strong and be strong, whilst women have been given a limited recipe for life which binds them to a femininity which may not be part of a particular woman's physical or emotional make up..I get the message that women are taught to play a role of false femininity which suffocates their true natures as individuals.

an essential read to help understand human relations
though i first read this book for a class, i have since turned to it many times. ms. bartky has a clear grasp on the dynamics of relations between men and women not only on the basic level of how we treat eachother, but on the intimate level of how we treat ourselves. this is a must read not only for feminists, but for anyone who has ever wondered why men and women are treated differently in our society... why we ARE different, and how we can change or overcome our seeming differences. it may be a bit thick at times on philosophical and sociological language, but the messages come through loud and clear enough so that you don't need to be schooled in either discipline to enjoy it.

The Films of Harrison Ford
Published in Paperback by Citadel Pr (March, 1999)
Authors: Lee Pfeiffer, Michael Lewis, and Leo Pfeffer
Average review score:

Useful and entertaining...
This book is really useful, as it provides an easy reference to Harrison Ford's films and allows the reader to find the ones that are worth watching.

Besides the blurbs of reviews and general information on the movies, however, this book is made really interesting (and at times really funny too) because of the stories about the production experience for each of the movies that it includes as well. Seriously, it is hard to imagine, when viewing the finished products, the disasterous, strange, and hysterical events that occurred during the making of some of the films.

So, if you are a fan of Harrison Ford or are just a big movie fan who is especially interested in behind-the-scenes type information, this book is highly recommended. If you don't care for either of the above things, why are you looking here anyhow?

It was really, really informative!
This was one of THE best HF books I have read! (It's one of the ONLY ones!) Even if you hate HF you would like this book! It has many off-screen photos. It has SO many pictures! The only thing I can say is, READ IT!!!!!!

The Fish
Published in Paperback by Wood Works (July, 1997)
Author: David Lee
Average review score:

If you like earthy grimy narrative poetry
David Lee has created for himself a solid niche in the literary scene: who else writes narrative poetry set in grimy, failure, male domination .... and makes of it a wise observation of the universal human story? David Lee succeeds in this again and again.

In the case of The Fish, hubbie cuts out on chores to go fishing and get drunk, only to find his wife won't clean the fish, make coffee ... until it becomes a contest of determination ... at the end you'll even feel a bit fond of him even if admitting he's wrong is beyond his capability - sort of.

David Lee may not appeal to everyone but his sense of oral language and of narrative give him a large audience.

The Absolute Best!
I heard Mr. Lee read this narrative poem in April at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. It was absolutely beyond awesome. I highly recommend it to anyone who has ever fought with a spouse or significant other.

Fishing Dry Flies for Trout on Rivers and Streams
Published in Paperback by MacMillan Publishing Company (March, 1984)
Author: Art Lee
Average review score:

If you can keep only one fly fishing book, this is it!
I bought the initial (Athenum Publishing.) edition in Feb. 1983. Read it so many times, and lent it so often (sorry, Art) that the spine is cracked. Bought this version in March 1998; he updated when appropriate (sadly Nylorfi is no longer available for tippets, and yes you can 'hang' yourself on it). This is a great read--the chapter on tying your own leaders is worth the price of the book. "Presenting the Fly" and "The Correct Approach" are essential reading for every fly fisher. Whitlock offers more tactics, and Joe Humphrey offers great insight, but Art is the most gifted writer on the subject of fly fishing. Buy it! Read it now. Read it each winter. Give a copy to anyone who wants to flyfish for trout with dry flies (Is there really any other way?). The only other fishing writer in his league is Frank Daignault.

An excellent book for any level of expertise.
Art Lee's book dispenses with the "myth" of trout fishing and presents in a clear and entertaining manner the true enjoyment of fly-fishing. " Fishing Dry Flies for Trout on Rivers and Streams" illustrates that presentation and reading the water is more important than looking like a hardware store on the stream and changing flies every two minutes. A well written and intelligent book on a subject often shrouded in a "match the hatch" mystery.
